Since the age of seven Haley Maurice has had type 1 diabetes. Summit Diabetes is a collaborative effort between Haley and her brother Ethan to raise funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). They backpacked 221 miles along the Sierra Nevada Mountains from Yosemite National Park to the top of the highest peak in the continental United States, Mount Whitney, to raise funds for JDRF.
